Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn

I’m so excited to be starting my internship program. I simply can’t explain how valuable is it being able to learn the ins and outs of the industry from someone who has managed to successfully run their business. For this reason I decided to give the opportunity to someone else who is wanting to learn and grow and get an inside view of what it is like to run a business.

Successful applicants will have the following experience and characteristics

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, ambitious, fast learner who is meticulous and organised. Someone who is creative and friendly with good communication and interpersonal skills. They will need to be very tech savvy with the willingness to take on any task from making tea to cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• Own Transport
• Hard worker with a positive attitude
• Basic Experience in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop
• Basic Photographic Experience
• Own their own camera equipment (Preferably Canon shooters)
• Experience with Apple products
• Knowledge of WordPress and Social Media platforms would be a bonus.

The internship will be split up into 3 stages where by you will only proceed once you have managed to prove yourself in each stage.

Your Responsibilities in each stage will include but not be limited to

Stage 1

In this stage you will learn what it takes to run a business
64-96 unpaid hours in lieu of experience and knowledge shared

• General Administration
• Organising, Packaging clients products and prepping
• Website and Social Media management

Stage 2

In this stage you will learn how to process images and design client products

• Editing
• Album Design

Stage 3

In this stage you will learn how to plan your sessions, shoot and gain hands on experience.
You will use all the information you have learned during the first 2 stages and apply it in the field.

• Assisting/ Second shooting on Lifestyle sessions and Weddings
• Planning and participation in styled shoots

Once you have completed Stages 1-3 you will be  offered either to Freelance for Grace Studios or offered a part time role in order to continue growing and gaining experience.
You will also then be given the opportunity to shoot alongside me in order to build your portfolio for you to start your business with great images and experience!

Remember – during this internship you have to learn all the valuable information and experience I have gained in my 8 years in business and 5 successful years photographing. This knowledge is invaluable and can help you fast track your career should you apply all the information correctly. Running a successful photography business is only 20% shooting and the rest managing, advertising and editing.
